Port Jervis Main Street Bridge, Sidewalk and Intersection Improvements
CHA played a pivotal role in the successful execution of a $23 million project, encompassing various facets of design and construction inspection. Funded by the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), the project focused on upgrading critical infrastructure along a key local economic thoroughfare including the replacement of three bridge structures, reconstruction of 2 miles of sidewalks, intersection enhancements, complete roadway reconstruction, upgrades to signals and lighting, and safety enhancements.
CHA oversaw the removal and replacement of two accelerated bridge structures spanning Clove Brook and the replacement of the truss bridge over the Neversink River, which necessitated the installation of a temporary bridge and traffic diversion while replacing a conventional steel girder single-span structure. All of these structures were founded on micropile foundations. During this multi-year project, CHA's team of four construction inspection experts worked closely with city leadership to seamlessly integrate pedestrian, safety, and vehicular improvements, minimizing traffic disruptions. This project exemplified CHA's commitment to enhancing critical infrastructure and boosting the economic vitality of the City of Port Jervis.
