Northampton Area Middle School, located in Northampton, PA, represents a major enhancement to the Northampton Area School District’s Secondary Campus. CHA, the district’s longtime resident project engineer, served as the construction manager for this ambitious project, guiding the district through every phase—from initial planning to final construction.
CHA’s proactive approach, which included detailed cost estimations, value engineering studies, and constructability reviews, kept the project within budget while fully aligning with the district’s goals. Close collaboration with the owner, design team, and District Board members facilitated a well-coordinated and efficient construction process. Special attention was given to traffic circulation, maintaining a safe and functioning campus during construction.
The new Middle School was built on the existing Secondary Campus, and following its completion, the old building was demolished to make way for a new bus loop and two athletic turf fields. This Pennsylvania school now offers a modern, safe, and effective learning environment for students, fostering educational excellence and community engagement for years to come.
The new middle school totals 272,300 square feet.
The middle school educates over 1,200 students in grade 6-8.
CHA has been the school district's resident project engineer for over 15 years.
