Holland Middle School in Holland, PA, is a model of sustainable education for grades seven and eight. When the Council Rock School District (CRSD) embarked on the ambitious renovation and expansion, they turned to CHA for comprehensive project management, keeping work proceeding smoothly without disrupting educational programs or affecting traffic and parking.
The revamped Pennsylvania school features state-of-the-art, energy-efficient systems, including advanced electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and exterior wall upgrades designed to maximize natural light. A notable addition is the solar panel energy dashboard, an interactive tool that tracks and displays the school's energy usage, serving as a hands-on educational resource for students.
CHA’s expertise in budgeting and value engineering resulted in over $4 million in savings, further boosted by a $2 million Alternative and Clean Energy (ACE) Grant. These efforts culminated in a high-quality, budget-friendly, and forward-thinking learning environment that benefits both the district and its students.
The project involved 136,000 square feet of renovations.
A 44,000-square-foot addition was connected to the middle school.
Value engineering and budgeting realized $4 million in savings.
