Global Beverage Provider, Warehouse Expansion

A global beverage manufacturer sought to expand its existing distribution center to be a fully automated warehouse with high-technology distribution equipment. CHA provided design and construction management services for the 21,821 SF expansion.

The addition included a prefabricated metal building and insulated metal panels on a concrete slab floor. The new section is equipped with a hydraulically designed fire protection system that was designed and installed in accordance with FM Global guidelines and local building codes. The expansion also added 15 new dock positions and over 70 new parking spaces for automobiles and truck parking, which required substantial clearing of a densely wooded area. The expansion was completed in four months while the facility remained active.
