CHA Sports announced today that Don Paige has joined the organization's sports facility planning and design practice.
"We are pleased to welcome Don to CHA," said Ray Rudolph, CHA's Chief Executive Officer. "His experience, combined with his extensive knowledge of premier track and field venues around the world, gives him a unique and valuable perspective that creates enormous value for our sports facility clients."
Don Paige commented, "With the expertise and resources of CHA Sports, this opportunity will allow our track and field facility business to grow exponentially."
Ranked among the world's best middle distance runners in the late 1970s and early1980s, Paige was ranked #1 in the world in 1980 at 800 meters. He was also the American record holder at 1,000 meters and world record holder at 1,000 yards. His best time for the mile was 3:54. He is a graduate of Villanova University where he was a six-time NCAA Champion in the middle-distances.
Since 1985 he has helped plan and develop more than 300 track and field facilities across the U.S., many of which have hosted U.S. Olympic trials, NCAA Championships, invitations, and conference championships. Of those 300 T&F facilities, Paige Design Group teamed up with CHA Sports on more than 60 of those since 1998.
CHA Sports provides a wide range of sports facility design services for public and private clients nationally and internationally. Offering architecture/engineering, construction management, design/build, and planning services, CHA Sports has developed indoor and outdoor venues for hundreds of colleges, universities, schools and public clients. Notable among the rapidly growing resume of the firm's projects are work underway on: the renovation for the Houston Gym at Buffalo State; the new Williams College Weston Field Renovation; and, and a turf field and parking structure for Boston University.
In the past year, CHA Sports has expanded its services to include sports architecture. The firm recently acquired Concord Architects of Boston, MA, a nationally-prominent sports architecture firm.
